It is essential to ensure that when you choose a new set of Upvc lever pad handles, they match the PZ (distance from the handle spindle to the centre of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because these are required to be aligned for the doors to stay locked, whether you are looking at them from the inside or outside. The handles we sell are designed to work with a variety of conventional cylinder locks, however you should double-check prior to ordering.
If you wish to upgrade to dual spindle levers you will need to remove the handles you have already installed and take apart the lock case. This will require an extra split cylinder inline. You can purchase these separately. We have included a diagram of the technical aspects in the images of each product.
brentwood door handle repair is a good idea to loosen the screws holding your existing door handle and then examine the mechanism. If the screws aren't loose enough then you might need to loosen them further. After that, you can take the spindle from the door handle and replace it with a new upvc handle. It is essential to ensure that the handle is in the correct position prior to installing it. You can do this by placing your finger between the frame of the door, and the handle to make sure that it is level.
Lever/Lever
The lever handles for doors are used to operate a multi-point lock with the Euro cylinder. They are found on many upvc double doors as well as some wooden and aluminum doors. They have a lever inside and a paddle on the outside and are generally available in two different types. Sprung - These include a spring cassette within the backplate that helps bring the handle lever to a horizontal position. Non-sprung: These do NOT have a mechanism to spring the handle lever into a horizontal position.
To fix a sagging lever door handle, you will need to find the hole for access to the detent or pin, which is typically an elongated or rectangular with a protruding hole located on one side of the handle base plate. Once located you can loosen the set screw with a screwdriver and remove it to release the lever, allowing it to return to the horizontal position.
Once the handle has been set horizontally, it is possible to put back the screws. Make sure to tighten them so that the handle stays fixed to the base plate. Consider applying a threadlocking product to the screw threads in order to increase grip and prevent them from loosing over time.
Drooping lever handles on door handles can be caused by various causes. The most common cause is that the fixings are too tight, causing the lever bearing to bind up against the door. It could also be due to the fact that the levers aren't operated at a straight angle and this is compressing the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into action.
The most common reason for a sprung lever not working properly is that the spring is not being in the proper position on the backplate. To determine whether the handle is back to horizontal, simply move it.
If the door handles aren't tight, it is essential to spot the issue fast, as this can lead to excessive wear on the screws and possibly to the handle falling off of the base plate. It is also recommended to tighten loose screws frequently to prevent them from becoming looser.
Lever/Snib
